Enumerated Values, What are the Rules?

I empirically observe that all sorts of typically illegal characters are permitted in DOORS enumerations (e.g., comma (','), space (' '), double quote ('"'), and so on.)

Has anyone seen documentation pertaining to rules for forming valid DOORS enumerated types?

If not documented, does anyone know the rules from experience?

Thanks.

I believe its any 'string', and cannot contain any EOLs. Don't know about odd control characters like \r or \b. It seems to me I tried and failed to insert bold markup, but its possible I'm just clumsy and ignorant about that.
